Northumberland visit hugely successful
Derwent Masons visited two Cumbria lodges in May, Derwent Lodge No. 4250 in Chopwell and Beamish Temple Lodge No. 9815...
As a member of the River Lodges Association we have close ties to Derwent Lodge in Northumberland in two ways.
Firstly through the association and secondly at our 200th celebration in 2013.
Derwent Lodge, Northumberland visited our lodge to join in the celebrations and ongoing visits have occurred since.
Masons of Derwent Lodge, St Leonards on Sea, at Derwent Lodge Northumberland
We were invited up to Northumberland in May 2014 to visit Derwent at their regular meeting and also to attend a special meeting of Beamish Temple Lodge the next evening.
There was a very informative lecture given at the meeting to prove the case that "Freemasonry is not a secret society" nor "a society with secrets".
The dinner that followed the meeting was very festive and many new friendships were made.
